Job Description

The Heavy Mining Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery such as excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers, loaders, or conveyors in mining operations. The role includes safe machine handling, daily inspection, and basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy mining equipment (excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers, loaders, etc.).
  • Transport, move, and manage ore, soil, and other materials.
  • Follow operational plans and supervisor instructions.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation checks (fuel, oil, hydraulics, tires, safety systems).
  • Report any defects, hazards, or mechanical issues immediately.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and mining regulations.
  • Maintain operational logs including hours, fuel usage, and equipment condition.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, preferably in a technical or mechanical field.
  • Valid certificate or license for operating heavy machinery (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).
  • Ability to work in shifts and in mining conditions.
